Australian Literature
Scope and Content of Guide
This guide is an introduction to UNSW Special Collections manuscript and rare book sources relating to Australian literature, including poetry, fiction, drama and non-fiction writing.
Highlights include the extensive archives of Dorothy Porter, Nicholas Enright, Billy Jones, y, z. Smaller collections relating to Patrick White, Dorothy Hewett, David Williamson and other notable literary figures are also of interest.
World class holdings, together with National Library of Australia, Fryer Library, University of Queensland.
Exceptionally strong in late 20th century Australian poetry, including writers associated with the Generation 68 and New Poetry movements. Other themes include Australian women writers, prison poetry, literary organisations, poetry journals etc.
An index to Australian women writers represented in Special Collections is included at the foot of the main table.
