Administrative / Biographical history
Poet Nancy Gordon was born in Melbourne in 1918 and educated at St Margaret's School for Girls. After moving to Adelaide in 1944, she began writing in the late 1950s and gave radio broadcast talks on the ABC in the 1950s and 1960s. As well as tutoring in Workers' Educational Association classes and Colleges of Advanced Education, she organised poetry workshops and evenings, including the co-founding the Friendly Street poetry performance venue
