Marion Campbell is an Australian academic and novelist. Her undergraduate work at the University of New South Wales and University of Western Australia was in French literature. Afterwards, she did post-graduate study on Stéphane Mallarmé in France. She completed her doctorate at Victoria University of Technology in 2011. Her literary work, described as 'experimental', often explores feminist themes. She coordinated the creative writing program at the University of Melbourne as a Senior Lecturer (1999 - 2008) and Honorary Fellow (2008 - 2013). In 2013, she was appointed Associate Professor in Professional and Creative Writing at Deakin University.
Her novel, Not being Miriam (1988), was the 1988 winner of the Western Australian Premier's Book Awards. She has since been shortlisted for that prize twice, for Prowler (1999) and Shadow Thief (2006). Her most recent publication, The Man on the Mantlepiece, was published by University of Western Australia press in 2018.

A collection of literary papers of Marion Campbell. The collection consists mostly of manuscript material for Campbell's novels Lines of Flight (1985) and Not Being Miriam (1988). It also includes other material relating to short fiction, fellowship applications, correspondence, an an entry for a radio play competition.
