Administrative / Biographical history
Francis Joseph Hardy, (21 March 1917 – 28 January 1994) publishing as Frank Hardy was an Australian left-wing novelist and writer best known for his controversial novel Power Without Glory. He previously wrote under the pseudonym Ross Franklyn. Later, he was a political activist bringing the plight of Aboriginal Australians to international attention with the publication of his book, The Unlucky Australians, in 1968. Mary Veronica Hardy (14 October 1931 – 7 January 1985) was an Australian television and radio presenter, actor and comedian. She was best known for her caustic wit, indifference to authority and tireless ability to ad lib. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Hardy_(comedian)

This collection is the papers and manuscripts of Frank Hardy, also comprising the papers and diaries of his sister Mary Hardy. It contains manuscript drafts of his key work Power Without Glory, also of Mary Lives, which he wrote about his sister after her death in 1985.
