Administrative / Biographical history
Jenny (Jennifer) Summerville was born in Sydney and moved to the Kimberleys in 1966 where she began writing. Her science fiction novel Shields of Trell (1984) won the Australian/Vogel Award, and her writing for local Taree radio station won best station-produced commercial in the Australian Commercial Radio Awards. As well as writing, she worked as a secretary, barmaid, advertising copywriter and sculptor.

The papers of Jenny Summerville comprise material relating to her work as an author. Most of the collection relates to science fiction novel Shields of Trell (1984), including manuscripts and artwork. An unpublished manuscript entitled 'Elizabeth' is also included
