Administrative / Biographical history

Twelvetrees Publishing Company was founded in 1984 by Clive Tilsley, Michael Denholm and Andrew Sant. It has published five books of poetry Queuing for the Mudd Club by Stephen Edgar, 1985; Holiday girls and other poems by Vicki Raymond, 1985; Effects of light : poetry of Tasmania edited by Vivian Smith and Margaret Scott, 1985; By way of a vessel by Edith Speers, 1986; Remote corners by Graeme Hetherington, 1986. In 1987 Twelvetrees published Full and plenty : an oral history of apple growing in the Huon Valley by Catherine Watson.

In 1986 Holiday girls and other poems was awarded the British Airlines Commonwealth Poetry Prize for the best first-time published book of poetry.

The material in this collection was acquired from the company via Clive Tilsley in one consignment in 1989.

This collection comprises correspondence, edited drafts, galley proofs, paste-up copies, reviews, newspaper clippings and general office records relating to publications by Twelvetrees Publishing Company.
