Special Collections Guidelines and Conditions of Access Form
Researchers wishing to access and copy Special Collections materials must first sign a Conditions of Access Form outlining copyright obligations and protocols for the appropriate handling, use and reproduction of material.Guidelines and Conditions of Access Form
Self-Service Copying
By Appointment researchers are welcome to view Special Collections material in the John Howard Reading Room.For most collections you may make copies using your own digital camera, phone, or handheld device, for private research and study. Portable scanners are not permitted but you may use the A4 overhead scanner in the room, supplying your own USB drive to save copies.
Self-service copying is not allowed where damage may result to the original item, or if the copying contravenes copyright law and/or conditions imposed by donors. It is the researcher’s responsibility to obtain any copyright permissions required for publication.
Digitisation on Demand Service
Special Collections staff can arrange copying of single photographs, maps, and audiovisual material on application, subject to relevant permissions.We may be able to arrange quote for digitising larger originals, audiovisual material, bound volumes, and files on a cost recovery basis, and will arrange copying once payment is received.
