The papers of Brian Ridley comprise minutes, reports, press clippings and other papers, mainly relating to the Australian Society of Authors and the Poetry Society of Australia
Administrative / Biographical history
Poet and administrator Brian Ridley was born in 1942. As well as teaching German, French and Latin, Ridley worked in Australian government departments including Treasury and Prime Minister and Cabinet. As a poet, he was published in Australian journals such as Poetry Australia, Southerly, and Meanjin. He was a counsellor for the Poetry Society of Australia in the late 1960s, and served on the committee of the Australian Society of Authors.

This collection relates to Brian Ridley and includes material relating to his work as a poet and an administrator. It contains minutes, papers, articles, and correspondence relating to the Australian Society of Authors, Poetry Society of Australia, PEN, and Australian Copyright Council as well as poetry and correspondence, including from Suzanne Hunt (who later married Ridley)
