This subseries comprises Enright's work as a theatre director. His directing career started as a Trainee director with Theatre-in-Education (TIE) and main house productions at the Melbourne Theatre Company, 1973-1974. While a student at NYU he directed the first American production of Jim McNeils the Old familiar juice. He then became Assistant and then Associate Director, State Theatre Company of South Australia, 1979-1981, where he directed Strike at the port for Magpie TIE and twelve main house productions, including Twelfth night, As you like it, Arms and the man, American buffalo, Traitors, A hard God, and his own play On the wallaby.
While Head of the Acting Course at National Institute of Dramatic Art, 1982-1984, he directed numerous student productions including, Buried child, The money or the box? Holiday makers, or Summerfolk, The winter's tale, Pericles, The comedy of errors and Summerfolk.
He co-directed The real thing, 1985 and Measure for measure, 1986 for the Sydney Theatre Company; Bobbin up for NIDA, 1993; Miracle city 1997 and Five sevens for WAAPA, 1998.
