This small collection comprises two notebooks and a correspondence book written by Vernon Ashton Hobart Sturdee during his World War I service at Gallipoli in 1915. Also included is a notebook of his father's Colonel Alfred Hobart Sturdee, ink sketches and photographs.

This collection includes photocopies from the diaries of Lieutenant-General E. K. Squires, CB, DSO, MC, 1937-1940.
