Papers collected by John Perrin during his time working as senior social policy advisor for the Howard Government

Administrative / Biographical history

John Perrin worked for nine years on the Howard Government's social policy agenda. He assisted in driving many of the major social policy reforms including Tough on Drugs, welfare and Medicare improvements, Stronger Families and Communities, family relationship centres and Community Business Partnerships. Prior to joining the Howard Government staff in 1997, he had worked in the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the Department of the Treasury and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Scope and Content

This collection includes booklets, notes, files, and other material kept by John Perrin, senior social policy adviser to the Howard Government. The notebooks contain details on meetings, to do lists, calls made, people met and question time predominately relating to social policy.
