Philip Ruddock is an Australian politician and Mayor of Hornsby Shire Council, NSW. From 1973 to 2016 he was a Liberal member of the House of Representatives. He was both the Father of the House and the Father of the Parliament from 1998 to his retirement. He is the second longest-serving parliamentarian in the history of the Australian Parliament. Ruddock served continuously in Cabinet during the Howard Government, as Minister for Immigration and Multicultural Affairs from 1996 to 2003, and then Attorney-General from 2003 to 2007. He is also the Vice Chair of the Global Panel Foundation Australasia.

This collection relates to the political career of The Honourable Philip Maxwell Ruddock. It includes correspondence, diaries, files, media releases, transcripts of speeches, sound and video recordings, photographs, objects, publications and other material relating to his time in office. There is also a smaller group of material relating to his father, Max Ruddock.
